How to Apply

Here are some helpful hints for the online LOI form.
  1. Make your LOI simple, like you're talking to a five-year old. Put easy-to-see pictures in our head of who does what to whom, instead of using big words like "leadership development" or "organizational partnership."

  2. Please do declare how many people you are helping and place that within a context. A high amount of people "served" is not going to necessarily be better--we're looking for effect, and how your work makes us feel. Be specific and descriptive--we're getting too many requests from people who do a poor job of talking about what they do.

  3. If you want a project funded, tell us why it is important to the mission of your organization.

  4. Tell us how long you have been around. Who else funds you and how much do they give you? If you've not gotten funding, tell us to whom you have applied and for how much.

  5. Have fun. Give us a feeling of your passion.

  6. Please answer all the questions as completely as possible.

  7. We mean that. Sincerely.

Selected LOI's will be invited to submit full proposals. We'll let you know what needs to be included with that.

A site visit will more than likely be made if a proposal is invited as a result of your Letter of Inquiry. So get your stuff in quick - the results of the site visit will weigh heavily in the final decision.
